The ground floor lobby upgrade is designed to work with the building architecture as a series of elevations juxtaposed in various layers to read as a city-scape rather than one building.  The original podium and foyer were designed as a set of objects, but this was layered up with too many ideas and finishes.  We have looked to simplify the overall lobby palette and in the process refresh the space with a lighter, more contemporary finish.

The proposed new finishes include recycled wharf timber panels, a green wall to create better air quality and a monolithic floor finish to allow the visitor to see the forms within the space. The key brief element was to make the space read in a more dynamic way and less as a conventional office building.  The foyer is very transparent having a strong relationship to the street and the glass frontage could be used as contemporary art space.
